Mary Gibbs, BSW

Secretary of The Wilmington Ten Foundation:

Mary is a retired Marine Officer with over 30 years of active service.

She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. She was the University’s first recipient of the Dr. John P. Nasuti Academic Achievement and Military Service Award. She also received the Chancellor’s Achievement Award for the Fall 2008 semester.

She served as a personnel clerk, personnel chief, drill instructor, personnel officer, and administrative analyst. She was responsible for accurate reporting of information that affected the pay and promotion of thousands of Marines and its direct impact on family members. Her ability to instruct and manage personnel records will benefit The Wilmington Ten Foundation immensely.
